Hi! Welcome to my Unofficial Mika Häkkinen Home Page !

Mika Häkkinen... one of the fastest drivers in the Formula One at the moment. Many of us waited his win for a long time, and that came for real in Jerez in September 1997. 1998 season went extremely well. Mika took eight wins out of sixteen races and he won the championship. Mika is the 2nd Finnish F1-Championship winner at all time. The first winner was Keijo "Keke" Rosberg in year 1982. Now Mika is fighting on the track to achieve another championship. That won't be easy..

McLaren's fast - but not reliable, yet

Both McLaren's were forced to retire in the first Grand Prix of the season in Australia. Mika and David dominated the race easily in the beginning, but then the problems started. David had to retire due to hydraulics problem, and Mika had to retire later because of an electric failure, which caused McLaren-car's engine to work only with 1/3 of the maximum power. Mika didn't seem disappointed, because he said that the car was really fast and good to drive. As soon as McLaren gots rid of reliability problems, it will probably dominate the races as it did in the beginning of the last season. Eddie Irvine took his first Grand Prix win in a race, where only 8 cars made it to the finish. Frentzen was 2nd and Ralf Schumacher 3rd.

Note: Personally I don't have any personal contacts to Mika Häkkinen. Some of you have sent me some cheers & other stuff pointed directly to Mika, so I wanted to fix the misunderstandings. But you can still write your cheers and comments to the guestbook or use the e-mail & ICQ.
